Nephrology

Nephrology is a medical specialty that concentrates on the treatment of kidney problems.

Kidneys can be affected by a number of chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, recurrent urinary tract infections, kidney stones and certain medications.

Nephrologists diagnose the causes of kidney failure and can prescribe treatment including medication, diet changes and dialysis. Nephrologists coordinate with a patient’s primary care physician and manage the care throughout the treatment process.

For additional information or an appointment with our nephrologist at WCCHS, call 585-786-1555.
