WCCH Skilled Nursing Facility Welcomes New Administrator

Wyoming County Community Hospital and Skilled Nursing Facility starts off the fall season by welcoming Martin MacKenzie, RN LNHA, to their leadership team as the new administrator of our long-term care facility.  MacKenzie’s experience in other long-term care facilities and his desire to interact one-on-one with residents and staff were the reasons the Board of Managers of WCCH chose to hire MacKenzie.

Digital mammography excellence at WCCHS

WCCHS has been awarded a three-year term of accreditation in mammography as the result of a recent review by the American College of Radiology (ACR). Mammography is a specific type of imaging test that uses a low-dose x-ray system to examine breasts. A mammography exam, called a mammogram, is used to aid in the early detection and diagnosis of breast diseases in women.

Local recognition of quality care at WCCHS

The facility first known simply as the “Warsaw Hospital” began in February of 1911, when Dr. W. Ross Thompson set up a private practice in his West Buffalo Street home. He eventually began performing surgery there and made room for five beds for those requiring hospitalization.

WCCHS is ready in case of an emergency

Wyoming County Community Health System (WCCHS) conducted an evacuation drill in conjunction with New York State Department of Health’s Regional Partnership Drill.  Twenty-six hospitals in Western New York simultaneously conducted internal drill testing for either evacuation or disaster triage.
