Wyoming County Community Health System (WCCHS) Announces New Orthopaedic Services

WCCHS logoWarsaw, New York, March 24, 2014 – Wyoming County Community Hospital System (WCCHS) and The Buffalo Orthopaedic Group have announced that effective March 28, 2014, Buffalo Orthopedic Group will be providing  orthopedic specialty services at the WCCHS orthopaedic office and performing orthopaedic surgery at WCCHS.  This new service will be based at the WCCHS specialty clinic office, located immediately inside the new main entrance.  Services at WCCHS will be provided by Dr. Paul Mason, Dr. John C. Karpie and Dr. Paul Lapoint who are board certified and fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeons and James O’May, R-PAC.

WCCHS CEO Donald Eichenauer stated, “This is a major expansion of the orthopedic services at WCCHS and will be a significant benefit for the people of our area.  The physicians at Buffalo Orthopaedic Group are among the most respected orthopaedic surgeons in all of Western New York and to have them excited to provide services at WCCHS speaks volumes about the improvements we have implemented over recent years, the decision to invest in new facilities and the overall direction of the hospital.”

Dr. Paul Mason, Partner of Buffalo Orthopaedic noted that he and a group of physicians from Buffalo Orthopaedic first visited and started their discussions with WCCHS management almost one year ago.  Dr. Mason stated, “Since that time, we followed the progress of WCCHS and kept in close contact with CEO Donald Eichenauer.  We have been impressed with the administration and direction of WCCHS and believe that together we can make a positive impact to the community and provide a high level of orthopaedic service for residents of Wyoming County and the surrounding areas.”

Buffalo Orthopaedic currently has two offices in Buffalo.  The Group’s Wyoming County practice will specialize in comprehensive orthopaedic services including sports medicine, advanced arthroscopic techniques, joint replacement, minimally invasive joint reconstruction and revision surgeries for shoulders, hips, and knees.  They will also explore conservative approaches to care, helping many patients avoid the need for surgical intervention.

For the convenience of patients, ultrasound, MRI, fluoroscopy and digital x-ray, and comprehensive physical therapy services are all conveniently located at WCCHS near the Buffalo Orthopaedic office.
