WCCH Hospitalists
WCCH offers Hospitalist physicians services in partnership with Western New York Physicians, LLC. This group will be available for all patients who are admitted to the hospital, 24/7.
They will be on-site from 8:00 am – 8:00 pm every day. During evening hours (8:00 pm – 8:00 am), they will have on-call availability.
What is a Hospitalist?
A Hospitalist is a physician who specializes in the care of patients who are admitted to the hospital. Often, WCCH sees patients who do not have a Primary Care Physician (commonly referred to as a PCP). In these cases, a Hospitalist physician will provide services that otherwise would be provided by a PCP.
How does a Hospitalist coordinate with my Primary Care Physician?
If you do have a Primary Care Physician, then you will still continue to see that physician during your stay. A Hospitalist is available to work with your PCP during your stay to improve communications and coordination with any of the following: your PCP, our nursing staff, and any specialists that you may be referred to.
