Wyoming County Community Health System awarded Hospital Accreditation from The Joint Commission

Wyoming County Community Health System (WCCHS) has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Hospital Accreditation by demonstrating continuous compliance with its performance standards. The Gold Seal is a symbol of quality that reflects a health care organization’s commitment to providing safe and quality patient care.

WCCHS underwent a rigorous, unannounced three-day onsite review from June 9 through June 11, 2023. During the visit, a team of Joint Commission reviewers evaluated compliance with Hospital standards spanning areas including emergency management, environment of care, infection prevention and control, leadership, and medication management.

“We are very pleased to have achieved this accreditation standard from The Joint Commission”, stated David Kobis, hospital CEO. “The organization has worked diligently to ensure the highest quality and safety standards for our patients.”

The Joint Commission’s standards are developed in consultation with health care experts, providers, measurement experts, and patients. They are informed by scientific literature and expert consensus to help health care organizations measure, assess and improve performance. The surveyors also conducted onsite observations and interviews. Accredited hospitals are surveyed every three years to ensure compliance with national Hospital quality and safety standards.
